Anxiety & overthinking

Hypnotherapy for anxiety and overthinking

When your mind constantly looks for what could go wrong, even ordinary situations can become exhausting.

You may question everyday decisions, replay conversations, anticipate problems or remain on alert even when there is no immediate threat.

Hypnotherapy provides a calm, focused setting in which to work with the thoughts, habits and physical responses associated with anxiety. The aim is to help reduce anxiety, help you feel calmer and help you respond differently over time.

Sessions take place online from my base in Surrey.

This may feel familiar

  • Replaying conversations or decisions long after they have happened.
  • A racing mind that makes it difficult to switch off at night.
  • Physical tension — a tight chest, shallow breathing, a churning stomach.
  • Avoiding situations because of how they might make you feel.
  • Feeling constantly on alert, even when nothing is wrong.
  • Being told you 'worry too much' without knowing how to stop.

How we might work together

  • Understanding your triggers and the patterns beneath them.
  • Learning to settle your body's stress response more quickly.
  • Working with anxious thoughts rather than fighting them.
  • Rehearsing situations that currently feel daunting.
  • Building calmer, more automatic responses over time.
  • Practical between-session tools you can use in the moment.

There is no expectation for you to arrive with everything worked out.

We begin with your current concerns, proceed at a manageable pace and adapt the work as needed.

Hypnotherapy is not a substitute for appropriate medical or mental health care. Suitability is assessed individually, and outcomes vary.
